The Cross River state chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) and TheInvestigtor Journalism Development and Innovation Centre (TIJDIC) have forged a strategic partnership for journalism training and other support. The collaboration was sealed during a courtesy visit to the NUJ at the Ernest Etim Bassey Press Centre, State Housing Calabar.

Opening her doors to TheInvestigtor Journalism Development and Innovation Centre, the Cross River chapter chairman of NUJ, Mrs Archibong Bassey said she’s exhilarated by the visit.

Journalism And Civil Society Unite For Transparency And Accountability In Cross River State

On Friday, August 16, 2024, TheInvestigator Journalism Development and Innovation Centre (TIJDIC) with support from the MacArthur Foundation through the Centre for Information Technology and Development (CITAD) and The International Centre for Investigative Reporting (ICIR) organised an engagement session on Environmental and Accountability Governance at TheInvestigator Hub.

The event brought together representatives from Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) and the media to discuss the pressing challenges and opportunities in environmental and accountability issues within the state.

TheInvestigator Journalism Hub Unveils Monthly Masterclass

TheInvestigator Journalism Development and Innovation Hub is hosting a journalism masterclass on investigative journalism every last Saturday of the month beginning from January 27, 2024, from 3-4pm. The event will be held online via Google Meet.

The masterclass first episode will cover sourcing for story ideas, pitching stories to media outlets, and other investigative journalism techniques. The speakers for the event include Violet Ikong and Lawrence Peter.
